This freestanding Bush Range cooker in Billinge had a faulty main oven. The oven had stopped heating, on further investigation it turned out that the fan motor was sticking which had caused the heating element to burn out. After fitting a new element and fan motor we tested the oven upto 200oC.

The reported fault was that the Fan oven was tripping the RCD breaker after 10 minutes of use.

This Neff single oven had a great feature, the main door slides underneath the oven. This is great for taking food out and cleaning the inside.

You can see in the photos there was some damage inside the oven caused by caustic oven cleaners.

The cleaning solution had dripped onto the fan element and burnt through the outer sheath.

We replaced the faulty element and cleaned the caustic residue away.

This Beko freestanding cooker had two faults. The main fan oven had stopped heating and one of the ceramic rings was dead.

The control for the ring showed signs of water damage. We replaced the fan element and the faulty control and tested all the other controls.
I advised the customer to be careful when wiping the hob and control fascia, only use a slightly damp cloth. Water can easily run into the gap between the hob and fascia, then drip onto the controls.

The left side main oven on the Kenwood range style cooker was totally dead. The right side oven was working fine and the ignition for the rings was working.

After making sure it wasn't a timer problem we determined the fault must be the function switch. This is a common issue on Kenwood cookers, the wire terminals are not high temperature rated, after a couple of years of use they start to become loose and burn out the function switch. We replaced all the terminals for high temperature ones and fitted a new function switch.

This Bosch built in single oven's grill had stopped heating. The culprit was sitting inside the grill pan, tin foil damages grill elements by reflecting the heat back up to the element, causing it to overheat and warp.

The customer gave us the oven model number so we could check we had the correct grill element before we arrived.
